Each team will consist of three of four players depending on how many players enter the competition.
There are no handicaps in the Ray Jessney Memorial Trophy (Christmas Texas Scramble)
We make the draw as fair as we can by listing all the players handicaps and draw one low handicapper. two middle handicappers and one high handicapper.
All players in the team tee off on all holes.
A minimum of 3 tee shots per player must be used (minimum of 4 tee shots for teams of three). This includes Par 3’s.
The nominated team captain then selects the tee shot to be used and marks the ball position with a tee peg. The other players then retrieve their balls to the chosen tee shot.
All players then play within a club length of the tee peg (not nearer the hole) in any order
YOU CAN TAKE A PREFERRED LIE ON THE FAIRWAY. IF THE BALL CHOSEN IS IN THE ROUGH OR A BUNKER THEN THE OTHER PLAYERS IN THE TEAM MUST DROP THEIR BALL RATHER THAN PLACING IT.
The above method of play is followed until the green is reached.
On the green the same method applies. The ball chosen is marked and all players putt from that spot in any order.
Each player marks the ball after putting. Play continues from each chosen position until ball is holed.
IF A PLAYER TAKES A PUTT AND MISSES BUT THEN TAPS THE BALL IN THE HOLE THAT SCORE COUNTS AND THE REMAINING PLAYERS CANNOT PUTT.
The gross score for each hole is marked down in the marker's score column.
The scorecard columns A, B, C & D will be assigned to the team players, put a tick on each hole to signify which player's tee shot was taken. Each player must have three tee shots selected.
If there is a tie, we will count back the gross score on the last nine holes. If that is a tie then we count back the last six, three, two & one hole until we have a winning group.
