HANDICAP RULES

    Stableford

    If a player scores above/below 36 points in a stableford competition their handicap is cut/raised in accordance with the table below.

    If a player scores below 26 points they would still only gain 1.0 shot on their handicap to prevent anyone scoring a very low score on purpose to get their handicap raised for the next competition.

    Handicaps are capped at 36.

    35 Gain 0.1
    34 Gain 0.2
    33 Gain 0.3
    32 Gain 0.4
    31 Gain 0.5
    30 Gain 0.6
    29 Gain 0.7
    28 Gain 0.8
    27 Gain 0.9
    26 Gain 1.0
    Top 3 Finish

    If you finish a stableford tournament in the top three your handicap will cut in accordance with the table below.

    • If you win the competition you lose 3 x your handicap range ratio
    • If you come second you lose 2 x your handicap range ratio
    • If you come third you lose 1 x your handicap range ratio

    7.5 to 14.4 0.6
    14.5 to 21.4 0.9
    21.5 to 28.4 1.2
    28.5 to 36.4 1.5
    Tied Scores

    If there is a tied stableford score after 18 holes the winner is decided on the total stableford points on the last nine holes.

    If the players have the same amount of stableford points on the last nine holes then the results is decided on the last six holes.

    If the players have the same amount of stableford points on the last six holes then the results is decided on the last three holes.

    If the players have the same amount of stableford points on the last three holes then the results is decided on the last two holes.

    If the players have the same amount of stableford points on the last two holes then the results is decided on the last hole.

    If we cannot separate them by the methods above then the result is a tie.

    Walking Off

    If a golfer does not complete 18 holes and walks in off the course they will have their handicap cut by two strokes.

    Injury / Illness

    If a golfer is injured or ill during the round and needs to leave the course no change will occur to their handicap.

    Matchplay

    All matches are to be played off:

    • 3/4 the difference between the two handicaps at the time of the match
    • The yellow tees
